In theory, communism works. In practice it can be challenging to say the least. As a Tory, I sit comfortably in the centre-right and while I obviously strive for equality for everyone and my views are verge on liberal, I have no time for the left.
Look at what is happening in Greece. I tell you, that would not be happening under a right-wing government. As you probably know, Greece elected a very left wing government this time around and I think this is a large part of why they are in the state they are in now. Right-wing governments are realistic. Left-wing governments are idealistic. Practicality is key in politics, I believe, and that is not a quality a left wing government possess. This is clearly the quality that won the Tories the 2015 election.
Left-wing governments don't work in this country. Proved by Tony Blair and his successes in 1997 and again proved by the failures of a more left-wing Labour party with Ed Miliband. The electorate, on the whole, know that left-wing governments promise the moon and the stars and while that's lovely on paper, it just doesn't work in the real world. People know that the Tories do make harsh cuts, but it's because they have to. They don't want another recession. This is why the Conservative party are always voted as the most reliable in terms of the economy.
Spending isn't always a good idea, Lefties. Remember that.
